Are you ProLife or ProChoice? Do you believe abortion is a sin, do you believe abortionist are stealing a child chance of being born, or do you think the mother should be the one who chooses.
There is a lot of debate on the subject and it seems like everybody has their own opinion on this.
What baffles me is that people are still seeing the act of having an abortion as a shameful thing, as a taboo.
Why should we?
In fact why should what gives us the right to have an opinion about what another person should do with her body. We see a lot of peoples protesting in the streets against abortion but how many of them have had an unwanted pregnancy or how many of them have come to be pregnant as a result of a rape?
As a man I can't possibly know what a pregnant rape victim might be going through and therefore I can't pretend to know what is best for her. How could I?
It's easy to be a good Christian when nothing bad happens to you. When you live a nice untroubled life, it's easy to follow the Good Word. It's easy to look across the yard to your unfortunate neighbor and give him lessons on how to live his life and criticize the hell out of him when he does wrong.
All those people who are denouncing abortion as an irredeemable sin where were they when the woman was helplessly at the mercy of the rapist? Where are they going to be when she will give birth?
Are they going to help the mother raise her kid if she can't provide for herself? Are they going to be there to take care of him , and to answer his questions when he'll be old enough to realize he doesn't have a father?
Probably not.
Sure, not all women considering an abortion got pregnant as the result of rape but that doesn't mean they should not have the right to choose. Chances are if they are willing to have an abortion they probably did not want to get pregnant in the first place. Why they did is their own business.
You can't argue that they should have expected that before having sex. That is probably the most hypocritical argument I have ever heard and you would be amazed how many times I have heard it. How many of us are having sex only as a way to propagate our species, really?
Just because unwanted pregnancy did not happened to us, that doesn't make us better, it makes us luckier, because chances are it could always happen to us as well. No matter how many precaution measures a couple could take, we all know that no birth control method is 100% safe. There is always a 0,001 chance an accident will happen. You can't held a woman accountable just because she happened to be in the 0,001 percent.
Those people who are so aggressively defending the life of an unborn child, did they ever stopped to think about the life of the person carrying that child? A great percent of those women considering abortion are bellow 18 years. Think about that.
Just because a 16 year old girl made the stupid choice not to take a pill, or let her boyfriend go without a condom, that doesn't mean she has to pay all her life, nor does it mean another child should be raised in a foster home.
How many of us did stupid things, but got lucky and didn't end up facing the consequences ?
Just think about how many times we could have endangered our life or somebody's else without even knowing? How many of us drove home after a party even if we had a few glasses, because we thought we were in control of the situation? How many of us crossed the road while texting? How many of us smoke, how many of us eat junk food?
How many people endangered their own kids, by leaving them unattended, or by not caring for them properly?
In this country, you can't drive a car, a soulless object without first going through driving school and getting a driver's license, because you might hurt someone else, or even yourself. You can't drink a beer until you are 22, but somehow, it's perfectly okay to have child at 16 years old, or less, that is to be in charge of another human being.
Somehow, I have a problem with this logic. How could it be wrong for a woman to have an abortion when she thinks she is not ready to raise a child, but perfectly okay for a 16 years old who hasn't even finished school to become a mother?
Maybe we should all pay more attention to those already alive before defending those unborn, but that's just what I think.

Cerebral palsy lawsuits
What is cerebral palsy?
Cerebral palsy is the most common term when referring to a groups of conditions affecting nerves and muscle ergo impairing locomotor skills and muscle development. Cerebral palsy is a noncontagious chronic illness and those affected by it are faced with very difficult challenges throughout their lives.
This condition may occur from pregnancy up to the age of three and is mainly caused by damage to the motor control centers of the developing brain hence the word "cerebral " ( the region of the brain affected) and palsy referring to disorder of movement. Resulting limits in movement and posture cause activity limitation and are often accompanied by disturbances of sensation, depth perception and other sight-based perceptual problems, communication ability; impairments can also be found in cognition, and epilepsy is found in about one-third of cases. CP, no matter what the type, is often accompanied by secondary musculoskeletal problems that arise as a result of the underlying etiology.
Who's to blame?
While in some cases is really hard to determine the cause, usually it happens due to certain problems during pregnancy or complications at birth such as oxygen deprivation , hypoxia of the brain and birth trauma during labor and delivery. Study have shown though , that the primary cause would be a not easily detected infection in the mother during pregnancy.Post birth causes include severe jaundice, lead poisoning, physical brain injury, shaken baby syndrome, incidents involving hypoxia to the brain (such as near drowning), and encephalitis or meningitis. The three most common causes of asphyxia in the young child are: choking on foreign objects such as toys and pieces of food, poisoning, and near drowning.
However, each year, thousands of cerebral palsy cases are caused by medical malpractice and negligence during pregnancy and delivery. A doctor may be responsible for failing to diagnose and treat an infection in the pregnant mother.
Human error can be found during child birth delivery in numerous forms, from failure to detect if the baby has enough oxygen to improper use of forceps or vacuum extraction.
Who can file a cerebral palsy lawsuit?
Every year, numerous malpractice lawsuit are being filed against doctors thought responsible for birth injuries. In 2011 a family in
Parents of an infant born with cerebral palsy have the right to file a medical malpractice lawsuit if they believe it happened at the fault of the doctor or someone in the delivery team.
It is true that nothing can change the harm done but the damages received if they win the case may give their child a chance for proper treatment .

Birth defects related to Prozac
I remember picking up my paper a long time ago and reading this very interesting title:
"Woman sues after receiving free unsolicited box of Prozac in her mail."
and asking myself why would she be so enraged just for receiving a free antidepressant sample before realizing the implications.
Prozac also known as the "happy pill" is a very powerful prescription drug, primarily used for treating depression, bulimia nervosa, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and aparrently was left in the woman's mailbox like a chocolate or perfume sample. We could easily imagine the consequences if someone else have picked it up and took it like a child for example.
What made me remember that peculiar article was a study proving how Prozac, if taken during pregnancy ,may lead so very serious birth complications and birth defects in infants. Apparently the problem is so serious that the FDA has asked the companies that make Prozac and other SSRI drugs to change the warnings they issue about possible side effects from the drugs to include the possibility that they can cause possible deadly birth defects in babies.
While doing some research I discovered that two years previous to the FDA approval, a 1996 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that women taking Prozac during pregnancy were twice as likely to deliver a baby with three or more "minor abnormalities" and poorer than average neonatal adaptation. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Among the birth defects that Prozac has been linked to we find:
It is one thing to use such a powerful drug when dealing with depression and it's a whole different story to make use of it just to relieve some stress , or sleep better. Common sense would dictate that one should first talk to their doctor and inquire about possible side-effects especially when it is enough to do a simple google search to find the testimony of so many women who reported that after taking Prozac during pregnancy , their newborns suffered from life-threatening birth defects.
So on the one side we have a very competitive and aggressive pharmaceutical market that shoves free samples of their product in your mailbox and on the other doctors who treat antidepressants as "mood boosters" while more and more pregnant women fell victim to this lack of caring for human life.
If you already fall in the latter category, all I could recommend you is to take a stand and consult a Prozac birth defect lawyer. The pursuit of a lawsuit may not only lead to some financial compensation that could ease your situation but could also serve as an example to raise awareness and prevent such tragedies from happening.
